Atomic Alarm Clocks are radio controlled and synchronized with the official U.S. time used by the U.S government, and receives the national official exact time, through a radio signal from the U.S. Atomic Clock in Boulder, CO. The atomic clock automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time changes, if needed.

Auto Setting Alarm Clocks (Not described as Atomic) are set at the factory before shipping, usually to atomic time. They serve the same purpose as Atomic Alarm Clocks but are not radio controlled.
